It’s almost Fight Day for UFC OKC and we have an absolutely loaded UFC Fight Night card on the way headlined by a clash of former champions in the main event.
Former UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is moving back up and taking on former UFC Middleweight champ Dricus du Plessis in a matchup with a potential title shot against Sean Strickland at stake.
Both fighters hold previous wins over the current champ, including a pair for du Plessis, so they could easily leapfrog Nassourdine Imavov and Khamzat Chimaev with an impressive win.
22 out of 24 fighters successfully made weight for the event.
Chase Hooper missed the lightweight limit at 157.5 pounds and will be fined 20% of his fight purse.
Ezra Elliott also missed the featherweight limit at 147.5 but was taking his fight on very short notice.
No word on a fine for Elliott, but his matchup will proceed.
UFC OKC Picks & Predictions
My favorite picks for UFC OKC are Alden Coria, Christian Leroy Duncan, Tommy McMillen and Dricus du Plessis.
My favorite UFC OKC potential betting upset is Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani.
Coria has looked pretty solid through his 2-0 start with the promotion and is getting another great opportunity to shine this weekend as the biggest favorite on the card against Stewart Nicoll.
I expect Coria to land more volume, connect with the bigger shots and likely put this one away with a KO/TKO win.
Christian Leroy Duncan is getting a great matchup against Jared Cannonier to really start inserting himself into the future title conversation at 185 and I love the matchup for him.
Duncan will be the significantly younger fighter here and should be able to push a pace on Cannonier to either land a big shot for a KO/TKO or do enough damage for a decision.

McMillen and Alberto Montes should be one of the more entertaining fights of the night, but I’m liking McMillen to get the job done in this battle of featherweight prospects.
While Montes has some nasty submission skills, I’m not sure I trust his striking to hold up against McMillen and think he’ll be in trouble without an early finish.
While I’m expecting the main event to potentially be competitive, I really like du Plessis’ chances in the matchup as long as his takedown defense is remotely on point.
Usman will have a path if he can get takedowns and control, but I expect DDP to be significantly bigger in the cage on fight night and think he’ll be landing the bigger, more damaging shots on the feet.
Du Plessis might have to weather an early storm, but I think he’ll start winning rounds and potentially be live for a stoppage down the stretch.
UFC OKC Betting Card
For the UFC OKC betting card this weekend, I’m keeping things a lot tighter than usual since I’m limited on what I can bet out here in Oklahoma City.
The bets for tomorrow night are Elliott by Submission (+275 for .5 units), Elliott ML + McMillen ML (+268 for .5 units), McMillen/Montes Goes the Distance – Yes (+275 for .5 units) and Hooper by Submission (+140 for .5 units).
Even before he came in slightly over on the scales, Elliott is facing a natural bantamweight in Damien Anderson and should be able to get this one on the ground for a chance to finish.
Also liking Hooper in this spot with his back pretty much on the wall to pick up a win here and think he’ll need the submission if he wants to get it done.
That’s four bets for a total of 2 units on the UFC OKC tracked betting card for tomorrow.
Merch, Interviews & Giveaways
We’re extremely excited to be working with Alvin Hines and Dione Barbosa for this weekend and hope everyone has shown them some love by grabbing shirts from our collabs to support their camps and careers.
Also, if you missed it live streaming yesterday on Kala’s socials, we’ll be uploading video on YouTube from our trip to TopGolf with Alvin Hines in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.

Congrats to all of the winners in JuanMorePack’s Adrian Yanez giveaway this past weekend, and if missed out, you can still grab some autographed Yanez cards or gloves for basically free with our $25 sign-up bonus on Whatnot.
Speaking of cards and giveaways, we’ll be running some pretty much weekly after we wrap this trip with signed items from Yanez, Alvin Hines, Daniel Rodriguez, Ailin Perez and many other fighters.
Make sure you’re following us across all of our social media accounts so you don’t miss out on a chance to win free stuff, as well as exclusive content that doesn’t always make it here like this week’s fight coverage.
UFC 329 Quick Recap
We’re going to start adding in a quick recap on the previous week’s card beginning with UFC 329, where we went 12-2 on the picks and ended the night up 2.18 units on the bets.
We missed out on a special night with a pair of bets missing by 1 and 11 seconds, but still a solid night nonetheless with a really entertaining night of fights up until the main event.
Reminder, you can always find out previous card betting results by checking out the OddSmokerMMA Bet Tracker also.
UFC OKC Notes & Wrap-Up
Overall, I’m obviously hyped for the card since we’ll be in attendance, but I’d be excited for a lot of these matchups we have coming up regardless of where you watch it.
There’s a decent chance the winner of tomorrow’s main event will challenge Sean Strickland next for the UFC Middleweight belt, and there’s also multiple other potential future title challengers on the lineup.
Next weekend we have UFC Abu Dhabi with a new main event featuring Magomed Ankalaev and Bogdan Guskov at light heavyweight to round out the month before a loaded August featuring five events plus the return of DWCS.
Kala will be doing coverage of UFC OKC at the event, so make sure you’re tuning into her socials to catch that.
As usual, best of luck on the bets and hope everyone enjoys the fights!
