It’s almost fight day for UFC Vegas 122 and we have a ranked middleweight scrap between Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan headlining the action this weekend.

The lineup features 12 fights, and while it might not be loaded with big names, there still should be some fun matchups and highlight finishes.

Three fighters missed weight for the event: Ketlen Souza (117), Ismael Bonfim (163.5) and Brendson Ribeiro (208.5).

All three fighters were fined and their respective bouts are set to proceed.

UFC Vegas 122 Picks & Predictions

My favorite picks for UFC Vegas 122 are Julius Walker, Felipe Franco, Malcolm Wellmaker and Brendan Allen.

My favorite potential betting upset on the card is Niko Price.

Walker will attempt to bounce back from a pair of rough outings earlier this year and gets a great spot for it against GM3 making his debut at light heavyweight.

Walker should be the more dangerous striker and keep this one mostly on the feet to pick up a pretty clean decision or stoppage win down the stretch.

Franco is getting matched up with Brendson Ribeiro in what should be a slugfest.

I expect Franco to be more durable on the feet, able to get takedowns if needed and to likely find a finish at some point.

Wellmaker should be fully adjusted after making the move to American Top Team, and with a full camp there under his belt, should show some improvements from his recent losses.

I expect this be a competitive matchup but think Wellmaker will get the better of the striking exchanges and avoid being controlled enough to get this one done on the cards.

Brendan Allen is getting a solid test here with the rising CLD, but I think it’s a favorable matchup for him as long as he doesn’t get overly confident on the feet in the striking exchanges.

Allen should be able to hold his own in the striking while mixing in takedowns and control time to wear Duncan down on his way to a decision or late submission win.

UFC Vegas 122 Betting Card

For the UFC Vegas 122 betting card, we went with a handful of prop bets and one parlay.

For the prop bets, we have Franco by KO/TKO (+175 for .5 units), Wellmaker by Decision (+275 for .5 units), Walker to Win & Ov1.5 Rounds (+175 for .5 units), Price by KO/TKO (+350 for .25 units) and Walker by Decision (+800 for .25 units).

The parlay is Walker ML + Camilo ML + Allen ML (+270 for .5 units).

I’d be surprised if Franco/Ribeiro goes the distance and think we’ll see Franco look for ground and pound if he mixes in his takedowns and also be live on the feet.

Wellmaker might not add another highlight KO to his resume in this one, but I think his striking will be enough to take rounds on the scorecards.

Walker will definitely be live for a knockout if he can keep Meerschaert standing, but GM3 moving up won’t hurt his durability here and could see this one dragging out if Walker doesn’t find a quick stoppage.

This is probably the only matchup on the roster where I’d take a flyer on Price, and although the price has plummeted since it opened, I still think there’s value there.

That’s six bets for a total of 2.5 units on the UFC Vegas 122 betting card.

UFC 332 Quick Recap

The bets for last weekend at UFC 332 went off the rails with another close decision landing against us with Marvin Vettori sending us to -1.6 units on the card.

The Damian Pinas over/decision plays were a bad call in hindsight with him putting a nuke on Pulyaev in under two minutes, but was otherwise pretty happy with what we ran, just didn’t have luck on our side this time.

This definitely isn’t the easiest card to try to bounce back but think we have some good spots targeted.

UFC Vegas 122 Wrap-Up & Notes

Overall, UFC Vegas 122 might be a pretty rough one for confident picks with a , but we’ll see how we navigate between them and the bets.

Next weekend we have UFC Edmonton on tap followed by UFC 333 the following weekend headlined by a pair of title fights in Abu Dhabi.
