UFC Vegas 64: Our First Five Bets for This Weekend’s Card

We are on the eve of weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 64 and with less than 48 hours until the first fighters on the card walk out to the octagon to get things started, I figured it was a perfect time to share our early betting slate for this weekend’s event.

For the early slate we have five props and parlays ranging in odds from roughly +225 to +750. Unlike I have in recent weeks, I’m not overloading every play with one fighter and having to play catchup when they end up getting beaten and all our early plays are dead.

Before potentially tailing any of the plays on the betting slate below, please read the descriptions since there were two of them that I wasn’t able to enter the proper description for into BetMMA, which I am starting to notice is becoming a recurring issue most weeks.

OddSmokerMMA 1st Five Bets for UFC Vegas 64

I feel pretty comfortable with Ramona Pascual this weekend despite the fact she is 0-2 so far in the UFC. I think she wins via a pretty comfortable decision over Tamires Vidal, who is making her debut and arrived late to Vegas from Brazil.

Pascual is the more well-rounded fighter, and as long as she is careful of early submission attempts, she should comfortably pick up the decision here. This fight is lined close to a Pick Em, with Pascual as the slight underdog at a majority of the sportsbooks.

I paired her up with Mario Bautista ML for a two leg +325 parlay to get a little bit more value out of Bautista since his Moneyline is sitting around -350 at most of the books and he’s one of my favorite picks on this event.

The Marina Rodriguez play is actually for her to win via knockout in rounds 3/4/5 at +700. I’ll also have bets on her Moneyline and 4/5/Dec prop, but I think there is a pretty decent chance that she can put Lemos away down the stretch here.

Lemos should look pretty solid early, but she has had cardio issues late in three round fights, so I’m not sure she holds up very well here in her first opportunity to see the championship rounds. Rodriguez has the ability to make someone not want to be in a fight anymore, and I think it is worth a sprinkle at +700 to see if she gets Lemos out.

Another fighter that I love on this card with a prop in a similar range is Grant Dawson to win via submission in the second or third round. This is another situation similar to Rodriguez, where you can also play the Dawson Moneyline and/or the R3/Dec prop as well.

Dawson has stopped 66.6% of his 18 career wins via submission, and while he is facing an undefeated opponent, Madsen is an Olympic wrestler who will constantly be looking to get this fight on the ground with no clear way to end it once down there. Dawson has a proven ability to end it there, having stopped 16/18 wins overall.

For a more detailed preview of the bottom +450 parlay, check out our UFC Vegas 64 Early Preview post. Also be sure to check back tomorrow and Saturday before the event for more late additions to the OddSmokerMMA Betting Card.

As always, if you are tailing any of these plays, best of luck! I always recommend Round Robins on prop parlays and be sure to consider your “safer” alternatives where available if you aren’t comfortable with one of my props (examples: stick to ML, run Double Chance methods, remove Rounds, etc).
