Jailton Almeida was scheduled to face Shamil Abdurakhimov in Abu Dhabi at UFC 280 14 days from now, but it now appears he will be waiting a little while longer to extend the scorching start to his UFC career.
First reported by Laerte Viana, and since picked up from multiple other MMA sources, it appears Almeida will no longer face Abdurakhimov at UFC 280 and will now be on the UFC Vegas 64 card against Maxim Grishin.
Daniel Rodriguez vs Neil Magny, another recently rescheduled fight that was removed from the UFC Vegas 62 card will also occur on the Vegas 64 card on November 5th.
This card is starting to shape up into a very nice one with Bryce Mitchell vs Movsar Evloev already announced as the main event for Vegas 64.
Grishin was recently scheduled to face Philipe Lins, but a last-minute cancellation left him waiting for a new opponent to face. It would seem his wait is over with this announcement.

Almeida is 3-0 so far in the UFC and continues to work his way through the ranks at both light heavyweight and heavyweight. It seems his fight with Grishin will occur at a 220 catchweight.
Can Almeida continue the tear he has been so far in 2022 since his debut or will Grishin be able to halt the hype that is starting to build around the 17-2 contender?
If Almeida continues to tear through his competition in this spot, the fighters who are currently ranked at both 205 and 265 will officially be put on notice.
