It’s Fight Day for UFC Winnipeg and we’ve got an action-packed lineup featuring 12 fights headed our way from Canada.

The card will be headlined by a welterweight clash between Gilbert Burns and Mike Malott.

All 24 fighters successfully made weight for the event with Casteneda vs Vologdin was moved to a 139-pound catchweight bout, presumably at the request of the Casteneda side, who came in a half pound heavier.

Mitch Raposo and Allan Nascimento fell off the card due to an illness on the Raposo side and that matchup has since been rescheduled for June 20th at UFC Vegas 119.

UFC Winnipeg Picks & Predictions

My favorite picks for this UFC Fight Night card are Mike Malott, Jasmine Jasudavicius, Marcio Barbosa and Mandel Nallo.

My favorite potential betting upsets are Julien Leblanc and Daria Zhelezniakova.

Malott is getting a big opportunity with his first UFC main event coming at home in Canada in a very favorable matchup.

I expect Malott to be the more dangerous striker, more durable and be able to hold his own in the grappling if Burns tries to take it there.

Malott should win the rounds with damage and think there’s a decent chance he can get Burns out inside the distance.

Jasudavicius is looking to get back into the win column at home and gets a very solid spot to do it against Karine Silva.

I expect Jasudavicius to pressure early and cause issues for Silva, who could easily be on a three-fight skid at the moment.

Jasmine should be able to get this fight on the ground, and I think she’ll be live for a stoppage down there.

Barbosa is making his UFC debut and comes in as one of the more touted prospects from last season of DWCS.

He has excellent power in both hands and looks to land bombs from the start, with 14 KO/TKO wins in 17 career victories.

I expect Buzukja to be willing to engage on the feet and probably find himself on the wrong side of a KO/TKO stoppage sometime in the first two rounds.

This spot originally was going to Nascimento, but after that fight dropped, I decided to bump up Nallo for this section.

“Rat Garbage” is another fighter making their debut off DWCS who is a talented and dangerous striker and he’s getting an opportunity to shine at home against Jai Herbert.

Nallo mixes his weapons well and I think he’ll be able to land big at some point in this fight for a stoppage.

UFC Winnipeg Betting Card

For the bets this weekend, I’m keeping things pretty light with one parlay and a trio of prop bets.

The parlay is Barbosa -3.5 Point Spread + Jasudavicious ML + Malott ML (+125 for 1 unit).

The prop bets are Jamie Siraj by Submission (+200 for .5 units), Jasudavicius to Win Inside the Distance (+350 for .25 units) and Jasudavicius by Submission (+55o for .25 units).

Decided to go in on Jasudavicius to find the finish over Silva, who has been stopped in half of her six career losses, consistently struggled vs her better competition and has been taken down 3 times in each of her last 3 fights.

I don’t think she sees the scorecards here if Jasmine can find that type of success with her takedowns.

That’s four bets for a total of 2 units on the tracked betting card.

UFC Winnipeg Wrap-Up & Notes

Last weekend was a really entertaining night of fights with UFC 327, so hopefully this card can overperform a bit from expectations and keep that ride going tonight.

Apologies for getting the picks and bets posted a bit late for this one, I’ve been trying to get them out on Friday recently but have had a busier than expected week finishing moving.
