UFC 281 Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira: First Two Bets for this Weekend

It is fight week for UFC 281 from Madison Square Garden in New York City and it will be headlined by the highly anticipated fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira for the UFC Middleweight championship in what should be an absolute firefight on the feet.

This card is absolutely stacked with depth, and I couldn’t wait to get started placing some early wagers for this weekend. I have two early three-leg parlays out already and plan to begin placing prop bets as soon as more of the sportsbooks start to open them.

The first parlay that I have placed for UFC 281 has +480 odds with two ML picks and a distance prop that I placed over on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The second parlay for the card has +308 odds and it consists strictly of moneyline picks that I placed at BetMGM.

I have Dustin Poirier and Ottman Azaitar attached to both plays, and while they are both facing solid opponents, I feel very comfortable with both sides to get the job done on Saturday night in NYC.

Azaitar is coming off a fairly lengthy layoff, which is never ideal from a betting perspective, but he is 13-0 and proven to be an extremely dangerous fighter. I think he can put Matt Frevola away in this one sometime in the first two rounds.

Michael Chandler is always live for a stoppage, and Poirier has been stopped before in the past. However, I trust Poirier to be able to fight through the biggest threats from Chandler early and will get this one done via decision in what could be Fight of the Night.

The two plays differ only for the final legs that will hopefully cash them out: Weili Zhang ML and Adesanya/Pereira NOT to go the distance.

Weili is probably my favorite pick on this entire UFC 281 card, and I expect her to comfortably put away current champion UFC Strawweight champion Carla Esparza sometime inside the distance.

As for the main event, while I haven’t fully settled on a winner, I would be pretty surprised if this one somehow makes it 25 minutes considering the history and bad blood involved in their rivalry.

I think there’s a pretty good chance one of these two will end up getting caught with a brutal shot at some point in a fight that should provide a lot of fireworks and top-level striking exchanges.

Best of luck to all who decide to tail one or both of these plays! Be sure to check back here on OddSmokerMMA during the rest of the week for my full UFC 281 Picks, Predictions, and Betting Card!
