UFC London: Edwards vs Brady – Picks, Predictions, Betting Card & More

We’re on the eve of UFC London and should have an action-packed card headed our way from the O2 Arena tomorrow. The card features 13 matchups and will be headlined by a welterweight clash between Leon Edwards and Sean Brady. All 26 fighters successfully made weight for the event which is always a plus these days.

On top of a solid lineup for this weekend, it’s also finally going to be Fight Day for Chris “The Problem” Duncan! We’re extremely proud to be partners with Chris for this fight and sponsoring him and we can’t wait for him to go to battle with Jordan Vucenic on the main card tomorrow in London.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Chris for all he’s done for us here at OddSmokerMMA providing picks, insight and much more during his camp and stay tuned for more information on our partnership soon!

My favorite picks on tomorrow’s card are Carlos Ulberg, Guram Kutateladze, Christian Leroy Duncan and Lone’er Kavanagh. My favorite potential betting upsets are Nathaniel Wood, Kevin Holland and Chris Duncan.

Ulberg is one of my favorite prospects in the light heavyweight division right now and I love this matchup for him against the returning Jan Blachowicz. Ulberg is 11-1 in his career and 7-1 in the UFC heading into his biggest matchup to date. Blachowicz is coming off dual shoulder surgeries and is one of the oldest fighters on the roster, unless he can secure and hold Ulberg for long stretches, I don’t think the Polish Power is there this time and Ulberg gets it done on the cards.

Kutateladze is 2-2 in the UFC and coming off an impressive win over Jordan Vucenic in his most recent bout. He’s known for his dangerous striking, and despite not being overly active so far during his UFC run, he’s faced some excellent competition in that time. I think he’ll be able to get this done by decision or late TKO stoppage over Fernandes.

CLD is a wide betting favorite this weekend over the debuting Andrey Pulyaev and will look to get back into the win column after a disappointing outing in his last one against Gregory Rodrigues. While Duncan struggled to stay on his feet in that matchup, I think he’ll have more success in this one and will be able to work his striking better and likely find a KO at some point during the first two rounds.

Kavanagh will make his second trip to the octagon tomorrow in what should be a highly entertaining matchup against Felipe dos Santos on the prelims. Kavanagh is 8-0 in his career and shown he is continuing to improve with experience. While dos Santos is a dangerous opponent, he very easily could be 0-3 in the UFC right now and hasn’t quite shown he’s at that level yet. Kavanagh should land the bigger shots and get this one done on the cards.

For the betting card this weekend, I’m keeping things pretty tight since I’ve been traveling out of country all week with limited time/access to fully vet this lineup the way I like to. I decided to take shots on Brady by Submission (+325 for .5 units), Kutateladze by KO/TKO (+275 for .5 units) and Bannon by Submission (+1000 for .25 units). I also ran a three-leg parlay with Kutateladze ML + Charriere/Wood Ov2.5 rounds + Ulberg/Blachowicz Ov2.5 rounds (+197 for .75 units).

For Brady, he has a very clear path to winning vs Leon Edwards if he can secure takedowns and work his submissions, and despite having the crowd with him, I’m not sure Edwards will be able to stay standing in this one. If Brady can get him down, he has the skills for the stoppage. The submission play on Bannon is far riskier as she has no sub wins thus far as a pro, but she does as an amateur and Puja Tumar has been submitted three out of four losses. While this one likely goes the distance, I felt obligated to sprinkle.

That’s four tracked bets for a total of 2 units. I also have a couple of bets coming into the weekend needing Wood ML, Holland ML and/or Ulberg ML to cash. If you checked out the picks/bets from UFC Vegas 104 last week, the picks were way less than ideal overall, but we put together back-to-back winning efforts on the bets with some good targets. So hopefully we can make it three straight tomorrow on the tracked plays.

Overall, I’m pretty excited for this lineup as it features a handful of excellent matchups on paper and feels like a card where we could see quite a few stoppages or fight of the night quality bouts. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Chris Duncan’s social media accounts for a raffle for a chance to win a signed UFC walk out tracksuit and show him some love heading into his huge matchup tomorrow!
