UFC Seattle: Cejudo vs Song – Picks, Predictions & Betting Card + Major Announcement

Despite a ton of cancellations and changes during the leadup to this one, we’re on the eve of a pretty fun card with UFC Seattle on deck for tomorrow. Props to the UFC for keeping twelve fights on this one in spite of seven fights being cancelled or rescheduled from the original lineup. All 24 fighters successfully made weight for the card.

Before we dive into the picks for this week, we have a very special announcement to make: We’re extremely proud to be partnering with Chris “The Problem” Duncan as official sponsors for his fight camp as he prepares to face Jordan Vucenic next month at UFC London. Between our website and social media accounts, expect to hear plenty of news about Chris in the coming weeks!

My favorite picks for this weekend’s card are Jean Silva, Mansur Abdul-Malik, Javid Basharat and Ibo Aslan. My favorite potential betting upsets this weekend are Raffael Cerqueira and Andre Fili, although the latter has moved to a pick em at some books. Make sure to check out the video below the full picks to hear Chris Duncan’s three favorite picks as well!

Jean Silva has looked phenomenal while putting together a 3-0 record thus far in the UFC and is going back down to 145 for this one after facing Drew Dober at lightweight in his most recent bout. Baghdasaryan is a solid striker in his own right, but I think Silva will land the more damaging shots in this one to get a finish at some point.

Abdul-Malik is 7-0 with a 100% stoppage rate and catches an opponent in Nick Klein making his debut as a replacement. Klein has also been stopped via KO/TKO in both his career losses (one as an amateur). I expect Abdul-Malik to use his three-inch reach advantage to land heavy early and often (if needed) for a KO/TKO in the first round.

Basharat and Ricky Simon should be one of the more competitive fights of the night and I expect it to be a fun one. Basharat is coming off his first career loss and recently relocated to ATT for his training, so I think he’ll come out hungry and motivated in this one. While Simon likely has his moments, I think Basharat gets this one on the cards.

Aslan is 14-1 with a 100% KO/TKO rate in his wins and has looked dangerous at the UFC level as well going 2-0 headed into this one. While Cutelaba gets the experience nod in this matchup, he also has a tendency to get reckless in striking exchanges and seemingly abandons the game plan at times. I expect Aslan to find Cutelaba’s chin at some point or get his first win on the cards for this one.

For the betting card this weekend, I have three straight bets out and three parlays. The straight bets are: Cerqueira ML (+270 for .5 units), Jean Silva by Submission (+650 for .25 units), and Basharat/Simon to End by Split/Majority Dec (+500 for .25 units). The parlays are Vanderford ML + Aslan ML (+198 for .5 units), Abdul-Malik by R1 KO/TKO + Aslan ML + Jean Silva to Win Inside the Distance (+349 for .5 units) and the ML’s for the three picks in Chris’ video (+128 for 1 unit).

Although Silva is mostly known for his heavy hands, he does have submission skills and that’s also how Baghdasaryan has suffered both of his career losses. I could definitely see a club and sub in this one. While I expect Basharat to get this one done, I still wouldn’t be shocked if Simon keeps it close enough to sway a judge for a split. And since me and Chris were together on all of his picks for this week, I decided to toss a unit on that one. That’s six bets for 3 units total.

Overall, I’m pretty excited for this lineup and hopefully the crowd in Seattle will deliver on bringing the energy too. Keep an eye on our social media accounts between now and the fights for any late additions to the betting card. Be sure to let us know who you’re riding with this weekend and what bets you’re liking also! Best of luck to everyone on their bets and hope everybody enjoys the fights!
