UFC Atlantic City: Blanchfield vs Fiorot – Picks, Betting Card & Fighter Graphics

We’re back again for another UFC Fight Day, this time for UFC Atlantic City: Blanchfield vs Fiorot at Boardwalk Hall. The headliner for this one should be a fun clash between opposing styles with a future shot at the UFC Women’s Flyweight title on the line. The rest of the main card rounds out fairly nicely for a Fight Night event, with Vicente Luque and Joaquin Buckley facing off in the co-main event and Chris Weidman potentially making his final walk to the octagon to face Bruno Silva in the featured bout. We almost made it through another card with no weigh-in issues too. However, Julio Arce ended up missing weight and somehow managed to gain weight between his first and second attempts. He’ll forfeit 20% of his fight purse to Herbert Burns as a result.

My favorite picks for today’s card are Erin Blanchfield, Caolan Loughran, Vicente Luque and Bruno Silva. Blanchfield and Fiorot have both looked exceptional so far in the UFC while compiling matching 6-0 records heading into tonight. This matchup will likely come down to who can dictate where most of the fight takes place. Fiorot will almost certainly be the better pure striker on the feet, while Blanchfield should have a solid advantage on the ground if she can get it there. I expect Fiorot to have some moments of success in this one, but ultimately Blanchfield will be able to mix in some takedowns and control time and I think she’ll wear out Fiorot down the stretch for a decision or late sub. Although Blanchfield has struggled with her takedowns a bit in recent fights, I expect she’ll have more success here and take advantage of opportunities presented by Fiorot’s heavy kick volume.

Loughran was unable to get his wrestling and grappling going in his UFC debut, but I think he’ll have a better chance of getting that going here against Angel Pacheco and should be able to showcase his skills a bit more for a clear decision or stoppage win. Vicente Luque was originally booked against Sean Brady for this one, but Joaquin Buckley stepped in with adequate notice and should be prepped for the spot. While Buckley has looked solid at welterweight thus far, Luque is a sizeable step up in competition for him. I expect Luque to be the more well-rounded fighter in this one and think he has a good chance to put away Buckley inside the distance. I also really like Silva in his matchup against Weidman. Although Weidman has had a lot of success previously in Atlantic City during his pro days, this is a really rough matchup for him at this stage in his career. Unless he can completely ground out Silva, I think one of Silva’s heavy hands will eventually connect in this one for the KO/TKO stoppage.

For the betting card this weekend, I’m not going too heavy since there isn’t a lot that I just love about this one, so I only added one parlay and a few prop bets (we also have a chance to cash our Namajunas/Blanchfield parlay that started last weekend which was +145 for one unit). The parlay that I ran for this card: Loughran ML + Silva ML + Blanchfield ML (+166 for one unit). I think all three of these fighters have solid paths to victory and they were the spots that I liked the most on this card (I have Luque ML attached to an untracked play, but feel free to add it or swap it in here for more juice if you want a better return). The prop bets that I’m running for tonight: Loughran by Decision (+250 for .5 units), Luque to Win Inside the Distance (+150 for .5 units) and Blanchfield by Decision (+250 for .5 units). That’s a total of 2.5 units out across the four bets.

I hope everyone has been enjoying the fighter graphics recently and I’m attaching the ones for this week below with Nate Landwehr, Chris Weidman, Joaquin Buckley, Vicente Luque, Manon Fiorot and Erin Blanchfield. Several more for next week’s UFC Vegas 90 card are already posted under our Gallery section, and I will be adding the first batch for UFC 300 this weekend as well. Also, I’m happy to announce a new section to our website will be launching imminently, so stay tuned for more details on that! I hope everyone enjoys the fights and best of luck to everyone betting tonight!
